2000 acre block Archaeology Survey
2000 acre block archaeology survey
Mapping and Planning
Reagan Smith prepared and performed all aspects of a over 2000 acres block survey that included many homesites, a historic cemetery and Depression-era infrastructure projects. The survey area was mapped with planned transects and shovel tests. All previously conducted surveys were mapped and researched.
Survey and Recording Sites
The Reagan Smith Archaeology Team surveyed all 2000 acres in various terrains and weather conditions. All survey protocols were coordinated with and determined by the managing agency. Historic Sites were recorded to determine exact location and significance. Detailed photography was performed of all sites. Cemetery headstones were all recorded, photographed and mapped. Depression-era retaining walls were recorded and photographed.
Reporting and Section 106 Compliance
Extensive reporting was prepared in accordance with agency protocols and NHPA Section 106. Many Tribes in the area were consulted as well as historians and construction experts. All site forms were prepared and filed with the State agency of record.
