Scott St. John, Reagan Smith, joins The Crude Life Content News Correspondent Ken Lavin live at NAPE 2022 in Houston TX. The two discuss how the environmental and cultural past impact the present and future projects.
Primarily the interview discusses how Indian (Native American) land, Federal Land and cultural archeology can become a major part of an oil and gas lease.
“It’s a broad scope but you have to comply with all the regulations that are association with that,” St. John said. “For example, the ARC (Archaeology and National Preservation Act) side of things has the National Preservation Act, you have to comply with that. So we have archeologists on staff that ensure we do all the necessary studies and reports for that project and submit it.”
